Mission Statement
The mission of the Court Security Office is to provide a safe environment for Judges, employees,and visitors to the Fayette County Courthouse.
Duties of the Court Security Office
-
To serve and enforce all orders of the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas.

To provide security and protection for the Court of Common Pleas and court related functions.

To provide security and protection for employees and visitors on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of the courthouse.

To transport prisoners from the county jail to the courthouse for court hearings.

To assist other law-enforcement agencies in the county.

To serve warrants issued by the Courts, Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation and Domestic Relations.

To perform other duties as requested by the Court of Common Pleas.
Totals For 2004
In 2004 the Court Security Office attended over 8,800 court hearings and transported over 2000 inmates from Fayette County Jail to the courthouse for hearings. Logged numerous hours assisting the Fayette County Sheriff's Office in security at the Courthouse and Public Service Building and assisted the Fayette County District Attorney's Office Detective in several extraditions.
Employment Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent.

Act 2, Act 44, Act 120, or Act 235 certification required.

Obtain and complete and application from the Fayette County Courthouse.

Complete an interview with Chief or Assistant Chief.

Successfully complete a background investigation.

Successfully complete our physical and medical examination. |
